What an Absolutely Beautiful Day

The weather has been perfect the last few days. We actually hit 70 today! I've finally thawed out and am starting to work on the house again. Tomorrow I'm going to run into town early and get supplies to work more on the house (drywall/switch covers/lumber).

The ground is drying out a bit, but it still is a far way from being able to be tilled for planting. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to the potatoes in on time this year because of the wet soil. We'll see.

The goats are heavily pregnant, which is good. I'm going to call the slaughter house tomorrow and schedule the wethers for slaughter. Gotta make room for the new batch of babies. Goat chili, here we come.

This weekend, the girls and I are going to Lehman's in Kidron, OH. We're going to leave here way early to get there about lunch-time. I'm hoping to meet up with an internet friend who lives in Cleveland in Kidron for lunch. Then I'm going to go hog-wild shopping! Dietz lanterns, here I come. Oooo, and a butter churn. And...and...and...(Most women go nuts over shoes; I go nuts over Tractor Supply and Lehman's. Sigh.) I'll take pictures to post for all those who haven't been able to go on the Lehman's Pilgrimage.

Catherine, I found your blog listed in someone's sidebar (forget whose), and starting with your very first post I have read all your posts. It took me a few days. You are a good and entertaining writer. Your life is far more interesting and rigorous than mine. I could never do all you have done, but then, I'm over seventy years old. I want to tell you about another blog that I think you would love reading - though I don't know when in the world you would have time for reading for fun now that you are working and in school and all. You and Suzanne McMinn remind me so much of each other I think you must have come out of the same mold. I put both of you in my Follow List so your new posts come up on my Dashboard screen. I see that you are not Following anyone; if you want to and need help setting it up, just let me know. I hope you get a chance to read some of hers. She is in West Va., and her story is interesting. I have Followed her from the beginning of her current blog. Click here on her blog title:CHICKENS IN THE ROAD I apologize for such a long comment.

Fiddle Sticks!! I forgot to check the little box for Emailing follow-up comments to me. Now... did it! I'm out of here. Ooops, one more thing: I don't do comments much. I may laugh along, or cry with you, but most times, I just don't feel strong enough to do comments. Bye!
